The Fred

This chic, adults-only resort has direct access to a private beach facing the Caribbean Sea. It's an 8-minute walk from Frederiksted Pier, a 5-minute walk from the Caribbean Museum Center for The Arts and 2 km from West Beach. Colorful, individually decorated rooms and suites come with flat-screen TVs, and balconies or terraces with sea, pool and/or hillside views. Some quarters add indoor sitting areas. There's a spa/beauty salon and an outdoor pool. Minimum adult age restrictions apply.

Frederiksted is both the town and one of the two administrative districts of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It is a grid-planned city, designed by surveyor Jens Beckfor, originally to 14x14 blocks but built 7x7 to enhance the island commerce in the 1700s.
