In this panoramic view of La Playa del Inglés located on the east coast of the Maspalomas dunes, from the tip of Maspalomas to the Playa de San Agustín, in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, belonging to the Canary archipelago. Playa del Inglés is a great attraction for European tourists of a thousand nationalities, who come all year in search of good weather. The beach offers a nudist area and other areas for sports activities, at sea and on the sand. Beach volleyball and beach soccer championships are held, as well as other activities. The optimal sea and wind conditions together with the water temperature, which usually ranges between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius on average, favor the practice of water sports. In Playa del Inglés sports such as surfing, bodyboarding or kitesurfing are practiced and it has several schools for these sports.

Maspalomas is a resort town in the south of Gran Canaria, in Spain’s Canary Islands. It’s known for its vast expanse of coastal dunes. These encompass the Maspalomas Dunes nature reserve. It contains several ecosystems, including the La Charca Lagoon, palm groves and the dunes, rich in birdlife like plovers, snipes and herons. The tall, slender Maspalomas Lighthouse has been operating since the late 19th century.

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, are rugged volcanic isles known for their black- and white-sand beaches. Tenerife, the largest island, is dominated by the sometimes-snowy active volcano Mt. Teide, which has its own astronomical observatory and is part of Teide National Park. Tenerife hosts a huge pre-Lent Carnival in the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
