Set along the Gunflint Trail and overlooking Gunflint Lake, this casual, family-run forest resort is also 11 miles from the Chik-Wauk Museum and Nature Center . The rustic lodge, cabins, lake houses and cottages feature rock fireplaces, kitchens or kitchenettes and modern bathrooms. Some accommodations have free Wi-Fi, washer/dryer units, saunas and/or 2-person hot tubs. Free amenities include bird seed and duck feed, hiking/snowshoeing trails, and use of a 16-ft canoe, kayaks and tubes at the waterfront. An informal on-site bistro serves regional fare, and offers a patio and a bar. There’s also a beach, docks and rental watercraft.
